About Us

Based in Elloughton, East Yorkshire, at the both the Hull Ionians' Brantingham Park Complex and at Blackburn's Sports Club in Brough, our club provides junior football for kids from the age of 6 years old. We are steadily growing as a club in size & stature and now compete up to the age of school year nine (Under 14's). We hope to continue our growth towards becoming one of the largest clubs in the area and in a few years will have sides in all age groups within The Hull Boys' Sunday Football League. In order to help us achieve our aim new players of all abilities are always welcome.

The origins of our club came from a Saturday Morning training club, based at Elloughton Primary School and set up in 1988 by Martin Kingston and Steve Cardy. Since then the club been run by a number of people. After Martin and Steve decided to go into retirement Alan Smith and Alan Wilson took over .It was under Alan Wilson's guidance that the first match was played, an away game at Bridlington. A number of games and tournaments were played until Alan Wilson decided he no longer wanted to run the club. After Alan along came the joint management of Steve West and Gustaf Baldvinsson when Elloughton Juniors began to evolve into the club as we now know it. Starting as under 8, their first game against Cavendish resulted in a resounding victory for the boys. From this point there has been no looking back. Since 1988 more than 500 children have passed through the club. Indeed this rapid growth has meant that we outgrew our previous home at the school and had to move to the new Hull Ionians development.

If you would like to know more about us please contact the either the Club Secretary or any of the coaches (please see the contacts page for more details).

The club also actively participates in as many summer tournaments as possible and welcomes invites from any hosting clubs from both the Hull area and beyond.

Under 10's and Younger

Boys and girls under the age of school year 5 play Mini Soccer as this is The Football Association’s approved game for children between the ages of 7 and 10. Mini-Soccer, which offers the best introduction to the game. Mini-Soccer fits the needs of the game to younger children, with games played on smaller pitches using smaller goals. More touches of the ball maximise participation for all players. We, at Elloughton Juniors fully utilise and support the ethics of mini soccer for all our age groups under 10. The Hull Sunday Boys' League provisions organised mini soccer at both U9 and U10 age groupings and we have taken part in this since 1999.

For those children in the 8 years old and under group we provide full a training programme on the basics of playing football. Ad-hoc  friendly matches are organised at this level as appropriate.

More details about all the mini soccer age groups are available either by contacting the Club Secretary or any of the coaches coach listed on the contacts page.
